Savannah Spirt is an art director/photographer based in New York City. She received her BFA in Photography at Parsons School of Design.
While at Parsons she founded and served as President of The Art Directors Club of Parsons, a student organization educating undergraduate students about life upon graduation. Speakers included Steven Heller and Paul Davis. She also served on a panel for potential students in open house forums. Not only was Savannah involved in the ADC of Parsons, she also took time volunteering at The ADC of NY for high school students, guiding and critiquing their work in their summer program in 2006.
As a graphic designer, she worked for such magazines as aRUDE Magazine and Playgirl. Savannah started VEAUX in 2008 when she realized that a social and business networking company could potentially help artists get work as well as connecting people together. Recently, Savannah participated as a portfolio reviewer for the American Society of Media Photographers as an art director. She currently works on various creative projects as a freelance art director and has worked with FWIS design firm as their photography consultant since 2005 and now serves as project manager for them.
Savannah’s favorite things are vintage clothing, music, fashion photography, pop culture, Alexey Brodovitch, Richard Avedon, biographies, and films from the 1960’s and 1970’s.
Diana Assil earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design at the Art Institute of California, Los Angeles. She is currently a freelance graphic designer and fine artist based in Los Angeles.
As a fine artist, she draws upon abstraction and lettering using a variety of media. As a graphic designer, Diana specializes in hand crafting, print work, logo design, photography and typography. She has done work for high-profile clientele such as Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Redken 5th avenue NYC, Marley & Co: Catch a Fire, Lea Journo Salon at the Regent Beverly Wilshire (A Four Seasons Hotel) and Grand-Jet'e, to name a few.
Her favorite artist and typographer is Pablo Picasso and Jan Tschichold, respectively. Once in a while she likes to toot her trumpet and make up dance moves.
Cailla Quinn is currently a senior at Parsons School of Design and Eugene Lang College, earning a dual bachelors degree in photography and psychology.
She began the Art Directors Club of Parsons with fellow student Savannah Spirit and is now heading it as President in her last year. In the past she has freelanced for newspapers in the Boston area and worked at the Woodstock Photography Summer Program.
She is an assistant for portrait photographer Platon and has been featured in the online magazine, Nutopia, a forum for photography enthusiasts that provides a space to show and nurture the creative process. She enjoys photographing subjects that have character and are disappearing with time whether it be objects, landscapes, architecture, or people. She is constantly working on a series about an island in Massachusetts going thru gentrification that has much to do with her childhood and hopes to one day publish a book about it. She is very excited about being apart of VEAUX and thinks it’s what the art world needs to get the "rawest" and best work out there.
Cailla enjoys the beach, people watching, traveling, is addicted to writing in a journal, and loves to think about hypothetical situations no matter how far in left field they are.
Ilana Glickman is a graduate of Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Photography. She has been a freelance photographer for six years and a freelance photo retoucher for 2 years.
She is also a working artist, having been published in various magazines such as Current Magazine and The Ross Reports, as well as being featured in numerous exhibitions. She works with partner Pamela Weinstock for the Promiscuous Girls series.
Ilana has also had ample professional experience in the business side of photography, taking on managerial positions. In 2007 she aided in the founding of Fovea Editions, a not-for-profit photojournalism gallery in Beacon, New York under the position of "Founding Gallery Manager". She was responsible for licensing the gallery and registering the gallery with the IRS, and most importantly gathered and organized lists of media and industry contacts. Ilana aided in the curation of the first exhibit with artist Lori Grinker. She maintained bookkeeping of book and print sales as well as donations made to the gallery. Ilana took on the position of studio manager for Kulton, Inc., a retouching studio. She was responsible for organizing the studio from scratch and was in charge of preparing files for editing, printing, and image releases to clients.
Ilana thoroughly enjoys managing and administering the business end of the photography industry because it gives her the opportunity to work directly with talented artists. VEAUX will enable her to help establish many more artists in the industry. Ilana’s favorite pastimes include eating and sleeping, and she wishes there were more hours in a day to enjoy them both!
